[MP3] Myna (2010)

MYNA MOVIE REVIEW
Starring: Vidharth, Amala Paul.
Direction: Prabhu Solomon
Music: D Imman
Production: John Max

Action adventure romances, set in jungle, are a rarity in Tamil cinema. Although nothing short of a love story, Myna comes alive luminously as it traverses through the unexplored jungles of Munnar. Myna is largely the story of jinxed lovers but it’s also about how destiny plays hide and seek with human emotions when people are thrown together by way of sheer circumstances and how it forces them to take stands.
Vidharth (Suruli) and Amala Paul (Myna) are childhood friends. Suruli is attracted to Myna and it doesn’t take long enough for him to recognize that feeling as love. They are play mates, when there is power outage and when Myna has to study in the night Suruli pedals the bicycle – with the stand on – lighting up the dynamo and shedding light in the girl’s text books. Without getting sloppy, director Prabhu Solomon’s script has such little gems, written with heart slowly building up the viewer’s expectations towards the story.
Soon enough, when Myna’s mother realizes that her little girl is in love with a mucky waster she decides to marry her off to a man with better prospects. She also lodges a complaint in the police station against Suruli for attempting to murder her and Suruli is imprisoned. As the wedding arrangements progress, Suruli jailbreaks his way to the village to claim Myna.
As the cops, Thambi Ramayya and Sethu, arrive in that far-flung mountain village to arrest Suruli, the action sets in motion many unlikely incidents. Myna, for fear of marrying the other man, decides to use that opportunity to elope with Suruli in the ensuing commotion.
With that, the movie takes the course of a speeding jet, trekking through the thickets of the jungles of Munnar encountering one humungous hurdle after the other; their jeep meets with an accident, they get chased by elephants and they lose their way in the jungle (before you question, no our cops are not equipped with that magical device called GPS as yet). In the process, the cops unsuccessfully battle with their emotions and eventually fall in love with the couple feeling for their plight. Throw in another twist of emotional imbalance in the Sethu character; it’s his thala deepavali and he has to be home before that.
As they make their way through the jungle, numerous questions arise, as to; will they make it to the civilization alive and if they did will the lovers be united, so on and so forth.
Amala Paul shows immense talent; the guileless tenderness when she puts her love on show, her strong willed conviction when she decides to choose Suruli over the arranged marriage and as a result when she is put through one hardship after the other in the hardest of terrains. Amala, as Myna, scores in every instance. Or it could be her eyes, we are not sure. It’s very easy to fall for that character and the sensible writing of Myna’s character manipulates the viewer’s emotions. So does the unpredictable climax.
The other three characters, of that of Suruli and the cops Thambi Ramayya and Sethu ebb and flow with the movie. The cast has been shown no mercy as they are roughed up by natural calamities and accidents inside the jungle. Another highlight is that the movie’s pace has been maintained throughout the running time. The narrative is blended with comical elements so as to engage the viewer and it works too. Prabhu also touches upon human right violations by the cops when they are handcuffed with suspects that restrict their actions at the will of the cops.
There are moments for Imman’s music when it impeccably complements the movie’s narrative. And it’s another benefit that his songs do not mar the flow of the narrative.
As much as it’s an intense love story, Myna is an adventure film of sorts; sometimes the adventure part outweighing the love and longing of the lovers to be together. Prabhu and cinematographer Sukumar’s conviction of using natural lighting in the cinematography is sparkling in parts. Kudos to the director – producer – distributor team for uncompromisingly believing in the movie.
Myna might not go down in the history of Tamil cinema as a love story or a story of jilted lovers. But it will, by all means, (pardon the cliché here) be remembered as a story with its heart in the right place.

MAMBATTIYAN mp3 songs

MAMBATTIYAN SYNOPSIS:

Mambattiyan is a film  directed by Thyagarajan. This film which is a remake of the film Malaiyur Mambattiyan is being made in Tamil and Telugu languages. Prashanth who is doing the role of Mambattiyan. The story and scenes will not be the same as in the original version.Modern graphics scenes will feature in this film.

In November, we told you that Malaiyur Mambattiyan (also referred to as Malaiyur Mambattian) is being remade. Now we bring you updates as given by Thyagarajan, whose life changed forever after starring in this 1983 movie.

Malaiyur Mambattiyan, the film that achieved stupendous success and exalted Thyagarajan’s status from a character artist/ villain to Kollywood hero, is being remade with his son Prashant, Meera Jasmine and Mumaith Khan in the lead. This is not just another remake, for the screenplay has been modified to satisfy today’s audiences; it is grander than the original and many desires that remained unfulfilled while making the original have been realized in this remake.

In Malaiyur Mambattiyan, Prashant appears in a never-seen-before getup. For the first time he pairs up with Meera Jasmine, who reprises the role done by Saritha in the original. Mumaith Khan plays the part played by Jayamalini. Veteran actor-producer Thyagarajan takes care of the film’s direction, production, story, screenplay, dialogues and art direction! Since this is a film which is very close to Thyagarajan’s heart, he could not give the responsibilities to others.

The film has been shot in several beautiful and exotic locations at Kodanadu, Dindi, Kambam, Theni, Malaiyur, in several dense forest areas and Kochi. The crew filmed in areas where filming is not thought possible at all, and interestingly, these were the areas considered by the crew of the original film but later given up owing to the risk involved in shooting there. The old crew members still regret that they did not film there, which would have enhanced the appeal of the original. As a tribute to them, Thyagarajan held the shooting at these places and completed it without any mishap.

Cinematography has been given great importance in this remake and Rajeev Menon’s associate Anil Shekar has taken care of it very competently. Thyagarajan said that he is trying to involve a famous Kollywood music director and will soon come out with details. Thyagarajan has also decided to retain 'Kathu Vazhiya Pona', the hit song from the original film.

PS: Galatta.com will definitely bring an interview with Prashanth while he is in his special getup for the film, just as we brought Sneha’s interview while she was in police uniform on the sets of Bhavani!

‘Seedan’ is a forthcoming film directed by Subramaniam Siva of ‘Thiruda Thirudi’ fame. The successful duo is coming together after a gap of seven years. This film was announced as soon as ‘Kutti’ hit the screens in January last year.

‘Seedan’ is an adaptation of the 2002 Malayalam super hit film ‘Nandhanam’ written and directed by Ranjith. The plot of ‘Seedan’ is said to be a sentimental love story between an orphaned servant girl who is taken care of like her daughter by the owner of the house and the owner’s son who comes in to stay for a few days before leaving for USA. The servant girl is a great devotee of Lord Murugan and she is surprised to see the man, who appeared in her dreams as her husband, in front of her. They eventually fall in love.

When the boy’s household disapproves his marriage with a servant, the disheartened girl prays to Lord Murugan. Then, a cook comes into the household and consoles the girl. He also predicts some dramatic events that will eventually lead to their marriage. Then in a surprising turn of events all end well. Later she realizes that it was Lord Murugan himself who came to comfort her as the cook.

The original Malayalam version starred Prithviraj, Navya Nair, Kavioor Ponnamma, Revathi, Jagathy Sreekumar and Sudheesh among others. In Tamil, debutant Krishna, Nadodigal fame Ananya, Suhasini Meera Krishnan and Vivek play main roles. Sheela, Ponvannan and Ilavarasu are also in the cast.

Dhanush plays an extended cameo in the film. He plays the cook who is instrumental in bringing together the young lovers. Director Siva says Dhanush read up a lot on cooking and observed chefs to get their body language right. Dhanush as part of his character even cooked some amazing food while shooting for the film.

Talking about a particular scene Siva says, "We were picturising Dhanush's intro song, Saravana samayal... for which he had to make jangiris. Even for cooks who have several years of experience, jangiris don't come out well in the first try. But, to our surprise, Dhanush got it right in the first take."

Dhanush enters the scene towards the end of the first half and comes throughout the second half carrying the film on his shoulders. It is an important role and without Dhanush the story makes no sense, the director clarifies. He also affirms that ‘Seedan’ will be a Dhanush film in every sense.

Interestingly, Ranjith, who directed the original, was supposed to remake his film in Tamil as well. He wasn't able to work on the project for he felt he has to be very comfortable with a language to make a film in it.

But Siva says that he's made a lot of changes in the script taking just the plot from the original and reworked completely to accommodate Tamil sentiments.

The film had almost 70 days of outdoor schedule in places like Palani, Thiruparagundram and Kerala. They also erected a palatial ancestral house inside the Prasad Studios at a whopping cost of Rs.1.20 crores where most of the film was canned. Art director Jackie of ‘Paruthiveeran’ fame created it.

‘Seedan’ is the second Tamil film produced by R. Mohan under Myth Productions. Their first film was ‘Aaha’. Cinematographer is Srinivas Devamsam, a protégé of P.C. Sreeram. Ram Sudarsan is the editor of the film. Music is by Dheena and songs are by Pa. Vijay and Yugabharathi.

‘Seedan’ is a February release

Azhagiya Tamil Magan MP3 Songs

Azhagiya Tamil Magan Songs:

                                                                                                                Artists: Vijay, Shriya
Tamil Magan would be a more apt name for this repellent farce of a movie featuring Vijay in a double role opposite the young Delhi girl Shriya Saran.

Even in the long gone days of silent movies, film-makers would not dare to unleash an abomination like Azhagiya Tamil Magan on viewers. Ellaappugazhum Currently 4.40/5

Horribly amateurish, completely bereft of a story or any semblance of logic, Azhagiya Tamil Magan brings disgrace to the entire Tamil movie industry.

Guru (Vijay) is an MBA student and an ace sprinter who cannot be beaten in running races. Before you can say Azhagiya Tamil Magan, you have him and a pretty lass Abhi (Shriya), daughter of a rich businessman – in love with each other.

Having run out of ideas as to what to do next, director Bharathan then decides to endow Guru with extra sensory perception and provide him with premonitions of horrible events to come.
A lengthy nightmare of epic proportions, Azhagiya Tamil Magan is perhaps Vijay’s worst movie to date. Vijay’s mediocre performance in this movie is an insult to legions of his fans.

While some of the songs like Nee Marilyn Monroe and that old classic Ponmagal Vandaal are not bad, their picturization leaves much to be desired. Nee Marilyn Monroe must rank as one of the worst choreographed songs in Tamil movies ever. Outrageously crude, the song-dance sequence exposes the complete inability of that fat tramp Namita and the lazy slob Vijay to dance. Period.

From the first scene to the last, Azhagiya Tamil Magan heaps agony and more agony upon hapless viewers.

Watch this horror-show called Azhagiya Tamil Magan only if you love hardcore masochism. If you are the kind of puppy that yelps whip me, please whip me, by all means go to Azhagiya Tamil Magan because it’s right up your alley.

SYNOPSIS:

Poove Unakkaga is one of the classic Tamil movies of Vijay and a work that brought to him major fame. Nagesh and Nambiar have been college day best friends and so are their children Jaiganesh and Vasudevan. Jaiganesh's family members are Christians while Malaysia Vasudevan's are Hindu. Jaiganesh's son is Lawrence and Malaysia Vasudevan's daughter is Anju Aravind. Robert, brother of Jaiganesh, and Janaki, sister of Malaysia Vasudevan, fell in love with each other.

Against their families will, they marry each other and run away from their homes. Ever since then, both families hate each other and Raja (Vijay) wants to solve the problem. So he comes to the village along with his friend Charlie. Raja and Charlie find accommodation in the house of a loud, frightful Velingiri.

Later, both of his aunts appear before him with marriage proposal, but in order to avoid it, he says he is married to a Hindu-Christian like himself. Here comes Sangeetha, who pretends to be his wife. However, when he gives her the duty of a wife, she reveals that she is the real child and only daughter of Robert and Janaki and asks Raja why he is acting as the grandson of Nagesh and Nambiar. Next to his rented house, which he shares with Charlie, there is a ladies hostel which features Anju Aravind.

As she and her group were trying to find a good tune to a song for a contest, Raja indirectly helps her and falls in love while she treats him as a good friend. As he was about to notify Anju Aravind, of his love for her, she notifies Raja of her love for Lawrence. Hearing their plan to marry without their parents consent because of the Robert-Janaki problem, Raja decides to pose as the son of the ran away couple. Now, both Raja and Sangeetha carry out this mission and when he is seen helping out the lovers in their ways of marrying, Anju Aravind's father gets notified of this and so the news as fire, gets spread quickly and both families now think they have run away and want to kill the members of the other.
Meanwhile, Raja has rejoined the friendship of the aunts and the grandparents so the uncles and the lovers is his main concern. He does this at once in style. After the marriage, the truth of Raja's appearance is revealed, and when he is asked to marry Sangeetha, he replies a "no" because he only loves Anju Aravind and he can't forget her.
